Session 1: Would they believe you?
It’s easy to tell someone you are a Christian and for them to trust and believe your words, but if they were to look at your life, how you treat others, how you handle success, failures, and conflicts, or how you live your life on a daily basis, would they still believe you? This program spanning 12 weeks, will explore the practical application of our faith in our daily lives, emphasizing the significance of our behaviors and choices in making a lasting impact on others.
45 minutes each week
This lesson explores the overall topic for the session “Would they believe you?”. We take a look at why it is important to live out our faith and how our actions can have a lasting impact on others.
In Week 1, we explored the significance of practicing our faith in our everyday lives. This week, we will examine how the Bible provides guidance on how to embody our faith on a daily basis. Additionally, we will provide practical tools to improve Bible literacy and comprehension, so all participants can better connect with the Scriptures.
Do you have the right perspective? Frequently, our responses to others and various situations are influenced by our perspective, so maintaining the right perspective is key to our success. This week’s lesson looks at the Israelites journey out of Egypt, and how their perspective altered the course of their lives forever.
How we react when we encounter conflict and offense can say a lot about us. In these situations we have a choice to honour our emotions, and lash out, or honour God by showing love and patience. This week looks at how Joseph dealt with conflict and offense in his life, and how he chose to honour and focus on God instead of his situation.
Cheating is no big deal. It’s just a white lie. They won’t even notice it’s gone. Are these things really as small as we think they are?
This week we will look at the root of cheating, lying and stealing, and how these actions are just a symptom of a much larger problem with our faith.
How far would you go for your faith. Would you keep your faith strong if it involved you going to church every Sunday, talking about God in class or praying for a stranger? What if it cost you everything you had, would you still hold strong to your faith. This week looks at what to do when our faith is put to the test, and how we can honour God in the midst of the testing.
Friendships are often thought of as simple relationships that are great for everyone involved. But what if we went deeper with our friendships, and aimed to not just have fun but to show God’s love through our friendships. This lesson looks at the power of friendship and how we can let our faith shine these relationships.
Courtship, crushes, dating and everything in between. This lesson looks at romantic relationships, and the heart posture we need to maintain to have healthy romantic relationships.
As we wrap up our discussion on relationships, we will focus on the most significant one of all: our personal relationship with God. This week, we will examine how religion is sometimes confused with a genuine relationship with God. Additionally, we will discover ways to deepen our connection with God to avoid being misled by the false sense of security that can come from religious practices.
Who are you? Who does society say you are? Who do your family and friends say you are? These questions all focus on identity, and this week lesson looks at who God says you are, so you can build and develop your sense of identity on a firm foundation.
As Christians we are supposed called to be the salt and light of the world, but what does that really mean? This lesson will explore this topic and provide meaningful insight so we can truly live out God’s calling for our lives.
This lesson is the culmination of the 12-week session, where we will look at what we learned and what it means for our future.
This lesson will also include a Q&A session, where participants are encouraged to ask any questions they have, and get a biblical perspective on their questions.
